For Summer 2006, Rain or Shine performed the hit summer comedy  A Midsummer Night's Dream to sell out audiences throughout the UK!

Rain or Shine Theatre Company invite you into the
enchanting world of Shakespeare's most famous
romantic comedy!

Enjoy the antics of four gorgeous mortal lovers and six slightly less gorgeous rude...mechanicals, as they become unwitting participants in the magical machinations of the immortal world....

Add one Bottom, One elixir flower,
One drugged Fairy Queen and hilarity ensues...

Throw in a play within the play, a famous (or should it be infamous) impish sprite and you have
Rain or Shine MAGIC!

Beware what you wish for in Rain or Shine's riotous rendition of Shakespeare's most famous play!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

“Or in the night, imagining some fear

How easy is a bush supposed a bear!”  (Duke Theseus)

In the magical, enchanted forest outside Athens, the chaotic existence of
Oberon
and Titania, the King and Queen of the fairies, is thrown into even more turmoil

by a sudden influx of mortals!

The fairy world sees the arrival of Helena, who loves Demetrius, who loves Hermia,

who loves and is loved by Lysander – all unaware of the nightmare ahead of them.
Also in the woods is a troupe of amateur actors, rehearsing their latest production.

Fronted by one of Shakespeare’s most famous characters – Bottom – they encounter a
mysterious force that makes an ass of one of them, and a strange love match for the fairy Queen.

“Shall we their fond pageant see?

Lord, what fools these mortals be!”  (Robin Goodfellow)

With A Midsummer Night’s Dream, award winning Rain or Shine follow on from their 2005 hit comedy,

The Merry Wives of Windsor:

“Rain or Shine’s open-air production of female revenge was fast, funny and highly entertaining”

Western Daily Press

“The effortless audibility of a very strong ensemble contributed much to a midsummer evening
of rich entertainment”
  Blackpool Gazette

“An exuberant and highly entertaining production”  Derbyshire Times
